CANUSA 68 Bus Pickup Information
The journey to CANUSA 68 begins on Friday, August 7 as Team Hamilton departs for Flint, Michigan to compete in one of North America’s longest-running international youth sporting events.
All athletes, coaches, and approved participants are asked to arrive at LiUNA! 4 Ice Centre (Mohawk 4 Ice Centre) well before the scheduled 6:30 a.m. departure. Please arrive early to allow time for check in, luggage loading, and final instructions before the buses leave.
The annual bus departure is an exciting tradition as Team Hamilton begins its trip to represent Canada while building friendships and competing against athletes from Flint across a variety of sports. Families are encouraged to come out, wish the athletes good luck, and help send them off as they begin an unforgettable CANUSA weekend.
Important Reminders for Athletes
- Bring your valid Canadian passport. All athletes are required to have their passport with them when boarding the bus. Passports are required to cross the Canada-United States border.
- Pack water and snacks for the ride. Billeting families in Flint will provide meals throughout the weekend once athletes arrive.
- All athletes are required to travel to Flint on the team buses, regardless of their billeting selection. This ensures everyone participates in the CANUSA 68 Opening Ceremonies.
- Athletes who have selected modified billeting are still required to be matched with a CANUSA host family. Billet families will transport athletes from the Opening Ceremonies to their sporting venues and back to their hotel following competition throughout the weekend.
