Hamilton, ON — CANUSA Hamilton is proud to host the 67th Annual CANUSA Games, welcoming nearly 400 young athletes from Flint, Michigan and Hamilton, Ontario from August 8–10, 2025. This beloved international tradition continues to foster cross-border friendship, sportsmanship, and cultural exchange between the two cities — a bond that has stood strong since 1958.
This year’s theme, “Beyond the Border,” celebrates not just a geographical crossing, but the enduring spirit of collaboration, connection, and community that has defined the CANUSA Games for nearly seven decades. Athletes aged 8 to 18 will compete across multiple sports including track and field, swimming, baseball, soccer, and more.
“We are thrilled to once again welcome our friends from Flint,” said Lauren O’Grady, CANUSA Hamilton President. “The CANUSA Games are more than a sporting event — they are a celebration of international friendship, resilience, and unity. This year, we go beyond the border to strengthen our commitment to the values these games represent.”
The opening ceremonies will take place on Friday, August 8 at the Morgan Firestone Arena in Ancaster, Ontario at 12:30 p.m., featuring the traditional lighting of the torch, an iconic symbol of the CANUSA spirit. Sport competition will take place on Friday and Saturday throughout the city.
The media are invited to attend. Athlete and organizer interviews are available upon request.
Our events will be covered by our media team who will share photos and videos online of different events taking place over the weekend. Don’t forget to follow our social media accounts to get all the latest news and posts.
