The 66th CANUSA Games, set to take place from August 9th to 11th in Flint, Michigan, offer an exciting opportunity for athletes of all skill levels. Tryout information for the games will be released in early May, and these tryouts are open to everyone interested in participating.
Many tryouts double as practices, giving athletes the chance to enhance and develop their skills at no additional cost. After tryouts, coordinators will communicate with athletes regarding team selection. Those selected will then be asked to register for the CANUSA Games, with a valid passport and health card being a requirement.
The essence of the CANUSA Games extends beyond competition; it’s about forging lasting friendships. In Flint, local families generously open their homes to billet athletes. Parents and athletes have the option of modified billeting at registration if they prefer to stay together and cross the border to stay in a hotel. While initially apprehensive, athletes often form strong bonds with their billet families, spending most of their days participating in activities together once their games are finished. Rest assured, all billet families undergo thorough background checks in advance for safety and peace of mind.
