Transportation Information for the 2025 CANUSA Games – Hamilton, Ontario | August 8th to 10th

During the 67th CANUSA Games, which will take place from August 8th to 10th, 2025 in Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton families will be responsible for providing transportation to Flint athletes they are matched with through the billeting process.

Hamilton Family Responsibilities for Transportation

• Transportation to and from sports venues: As a Hamilton family, you will be required to drive the Flint athlete you are hosting to their scheduled sports events, starting after the Opening Ceremonies on August 8th.
• Pick-up and drop-off: You will also be responsible for picking up the athlete from the venue and ensuring they return safely to their billet home.
• Sport-specific pairings: Billeting matches are generally made with athletes from the same sport, ensuring a smooth experience, though this may vary based on the number of athletes participating.

This transportation responsibility is key to ensuring that all athletes have an enjoyable and seamless experience throughout the CANUSA Games, fostering friendship and teamwork across borders.

For Flint parents and families attending the 2025 CANUSA Games, here are the directions to key venues in Hamilton, including the Opening Ceremonies and Morgan Firestone Arena.

To Opening Ceremonies at Mohawk Sports Park

• Distance: Approximately 4 hours (240 miles)
• Directions:
  1. Head east on I-69 from Flint toward Detroit.
  2. Merge onto I-75 North toward Detroit.
  3. Take exit 50A to merge onto QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) toward Hamilton.
  4. Continue on QEW, following signs for Hamilton.
  5. Exit at Mohawk Road West and continue to Mohawk Sports Park.

To Morgan Firestone Arena

• Distance: Approximately 4 hours (240 miles)
• Directions:
  1. Head east on I-69 from Flint toward Detroit.
  2. Merge onto I-75 North toward Detroit.
  3. Take exit 50A to merge onto QEW (Queen Elizabeth Way) toward Hamilton.
  4. Take exit 100 for Upper James Street.
  5. Continue south on Upper James Street to reach Morgan Firestone Arena.
