Flag Football at the 2025 CANUSA Games – Hamilton, Ontario | August 8th to 10th
Flag Football returns to the CANUSA Games in 2025 with fast-paced, non-contact matchups between athletes from Hamilton and Flint. Games will be hosted at the Mohawk Sports Complex, with divisions for U12 and U14 mixed teams.
All tryouts and practices are free. Athletes are encouraged to attend all sessions.
Location: Mohawk Sports Complex – Rugby Fields (#8 and #9)
(Corner of Mohawk Rd. & Upper Kenilworth)

Time: 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM (120 minutes per session)
Athletes must attend at least 80% of practices to remain eligible for selection.

Tryouts and practices are free. Once selected, athletes will be required to pay a registration fee to participate in the CANUSA Games.
Financial assistance and scholarships are available to help ensure every athlete has the opportunity to take part.
As hosts, Hamilton athletes must billet one athlete from Flint for the duration of the Games weekend. This tradition strengthens the CANUSA spirit and helps keep the Games affordable.

Ed Valtenbergs is a native Hamiltonian who grew up playing touch and flag football for almost 20 years and has always had a passion for football in general.
He is a long time youth coach in various sports and tireless volunteer. He has sat on various Boards in Hamilton including HECFI, the Canadian Football Hall of Fame, Tiger-Cat Alumni and various community groups. He currently serves as Manager/Controller of the Tiger-Cat Alumni and VP of Sport Hamilton.
He has degrees in Sports Administration and Marketing and has spent many years of his career working in the sports industry. Ed spent several years as of the Official traveling escort for the Grey Cup Trophy including the Grey Cup game.
