The event is not a tournament, but rather a set of games where teams from Hamilton and Flint will compete against each other.

Tryouts & Practices

  • Tryouts and Practices: Tryouts and practices for the 2025 CANUSA Games are free of charge. All interested athletes are encouraged to attend as many sessions as possible to prepare for the Games in August.
  • Commitment Requirement: Athletes must attend 80% of practices leading up to the Games in order to be eligible for selection. This ensures athletes are well-prepared for the competition and ready to represent their team.

Registration & Costs

While tryouts and practices are free, there is a registration fee for the 2025 CANUSA Games. This fee will be required once teams are finalized. If an athlete is unable to pay the registration cost, CANUSA offers scholarships and support to help cover the cost and ensure that every athlete has the opportunity to participate. Information on how to apply for support will be available soon.

Billeting Requirement for CANUSA Families

As Hamilton is the host city for the 2025 CANUSA Games, all Hamilton families are required to billet a Flint athlete for the duration of the event. Billeting is a key part of the CANUSA experience, helping reduce costs and creating meaningful connections between families from both cities.

Vulnerable Sector Check:
Hamilton parents hosting Flint athletes are required to complete a Vulnerable Sector Check with the Hamilton Police Service. This step ensures the safety of all participants. For more details and instructions on obtaining the check, please visit the official CANUSA Housing & Screening Information.
