Hamilton, ON – On Thursday, June 27th, at the Hamilton Police Service Central Division, CANUSA Games President Louise Palciauskas and Director Patrick Brennan were presented with a cheque for $1,200 from Hamilton Police Services The cheque was presented by Chief Frank Bergen, Jack Vanderpol, Anthony Volpe, and Derek Donn in honor and memory of long-time CANUSA friend and board member Constable Greg Mills, who served with the Hamilton Police for twenty years.
Fundraising efforts were spearheaded by Derek Donn with the help of Jack Vanderpol, both of whom fondly remembered Greg Mills as a cherished friend. Donn shared heartwarming memories of their times together, particularly their shared love for Marvel movies. In a touching tribute, 115 memorial t-shirts were sold, featuring the CANUSA logo on the back and Greg’s badge on the front.
Chief Frank Bergen remarked, “This is something that would make Greg proud.” Reflecting on Greg’s passion, Patrick Brennan said, “Greg always made his love for the CANUSA Games known to others.” Louise Palciauskas added, “These funds will provide crucial support for athletes who are financially struggling and help with transportation needs.”
