Lauren O’Grady’s journey with CANUSA isn’t just about games; it’s a family tradition. Growing up surrounded by stories of CANUSA’s legacy, she eagerly followed in her family’s footsteps, joining as an athlete in 1999. For over a decade, from 1999 to 2009, O’Grady graced the basketball court with her skill and spirit, embodying the essence of friendly competition and camaraderie that defines the games.

Beyond her athletic prowess, O’Grady’s commitment to CANUSA runs deep. From her role as a board member to serving as 1st Vice-President, she’s been at the heart of the organization’s growth and success. Off the court, she channels her passion into her work as a Communications Specialist, making a difference beyond the realm of sports. For O’Grady, the most cherished moments of the CANUSA Games aren’t the victories, but the Sunday mornings when athletes bid farewell to their billets, forging connections that last a lifetime.


Lisa Maychak | 2nd Vice-President

Lisa Maychak’s journey with CANUSA began two years ago when she was nominated to the Board by fellow members, drawn to her passion for community engagement and event coordination. Although not a former CANUSA athlete herself, Lisa brings a wealth of experience, having been involved in the 2015 Pan Am Games in Hamilton and through her marriage to Greg Maychak, a previous City staff liaison for the CANUSA Games.

Beyond her professional commitments, Lisa is a devoted sports enthusiast, proudly holding season tickets for the CFL and cheering on the Tiger-Cats. Her dedication to community extends to her full-time role as Project Manager for Age-Friendly City at the City of Hamilton, where she spearheads initiatives benefitting seniors. Despite her many accomplishments, Lisa remains grounded, finding the greatest joy in the lasting friendships forged through the CANUSA Games, embodying the true spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie.


Ryan Hilton | 2nd Vice-President

Years with CANUSA: 10

Meet Ryan Hilton, a Chartered Professional Accountant whose journey with CANUSA Games began in 2014 when he shadowed the outgoing treasurer. Captivated by the organization’s mission and spirit, Ryan officially joined as Board Director and Treasurer, bringing over a decade of financial experience from Deloitte LLP and a newfound passion for osteopathy studies. Beyond his financial acumen, Ryan is a true sports enthusiast, having dabbled in various recreational activities like golf, ultimate frisbee, and volleyball, enriching his understanding of teamwork and sportsmanship.

While balancing his role as an independent Finance contractor and his commitment to CANUSA, Ryan finds utmost joy in the annual Games weekend every August. For him, it’s not just about the competition but witnessing the heartfelt camaraderie among athletes and the lasting friendships formed. With his dedication, integrity, and love for both finance and sports, Ryan Hilton continues to play a pivotal role in shaping the success and spirit of CANUSA Games, making a meaningful impact in both the boardroom and on the field.
